Job Title: Waste Collection Operator

About this role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a waste collection operator, responsible for collecting and transporting waste and recyclables using HR vehicles.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate HR vehicles safely and efficiently to collect and transport waste and recyclables.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness when interacting with traffic and heavy machinery on commercial sites.
  • Conduct daily safety checks, complete paperwork, and perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure your vehicle remains clean and presentable at all times.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid HR or HC license with a clean driving record.
  • Have experience operating Front Lift vehicles, with a preference for candidates who have worked in the waste industry and have multi-drop experience.
  • Demonstrate good local area knowledge, particularly within the Tomago region.
  • Display a positive team attitude and maintain a professional appearance throughout your working hours.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Waste management principles and practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Work will be conducted in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions.
  • Long periods of sitting and standing may be required during the working day.
