**Job Role Overview - Technical Officer**

The City of Marion is committed to delivering high-quality services to its community.

As a Technical Officer, you will play a vital role in providing support with investigations into traffic, transport, parking, walking, and cycling for the delivery of traffic engineering services.

Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders are essential for this role.

You will be responsible for delivering quality services to our community, improving residents' quality of life, and working collaboratively with other departments to achieve this goal.

Key deliverables include assisting the team with investigations into traffic and parking, developing solutions, and making recommendations within delegated authority.

You will also provide technical advice to the public, other departments, and external stakeholders on traffic and parking management issues.

Additionally, you will implement actions and recommendations associated with the city's transport-related strategic plans and Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) studies.

**Key Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Hold a Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Traffic Engineering experience
  • Workzone Traffic Management certification
