At the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, we are connecting South Australia to keep our State moving. Our work encompasses every part of our State; from our cities to our regions, connecting and strengthening community. We value diversity and inclusion and foster an environment of collaboration, flexibility, and support for our people.

The Opportunity

Join our multidiscipline team as an Electrification Engineer - Systems Engineering and play a key role in supporting South Australia's train and tram assets. In this role, you will provide specialist engineering services and systems engineering support to ensure the reliability, safety, and long-term performance of electrification infrastructure.

You will collaborate closely with service providers, technical specialists, and stakeholders to deliver expert advice, review projects, and ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation. Your work will contribute to the planning, assurance, and management of operational assets and capital programs, helping to maintain consistent asset condition and meet strategic objectives.

This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on South Australia's rail network, apply your technical expertise, and work within a supportive, high-performing team that values innovation, collaboration, and professional development.

About you

You are a technically skilled and solutions-focused professional with significant experience in rail signalling and electrification systems. You have well-developed expertise in electrification design, manufacturing, maintenance, and fault-finding techniques, underpinned by a strong understanding of the principles and practices of these systems.

You excel at planning, prioritising, and managing competing demands, both independently and collaboratively, ensuring deadlines and project objectives are consistently met. Your experience includes coordinating and supporting the delivery of technical services within complex organisations, conducting specialised investigations, analysing data, and applying sound methodologies to inform decision-making.

With your specialised skills in electrification systems, you provide responsive, high-quality advice and recommendations that support the delivery of large-scale technical programs. You are committed to maintaining accurate records, fostering continuous improvement, and contributing innovative solutions through collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
