The Position

Applications are sought from accomplished upper strings tutors who can inspire and develop our students' passion for music. As part of our vibrant Music Department, you will be responsible for tutoring violin/viola students individually or in groups. In addition to teaching duties, you may also be required to participate in our extra-curricular music program, which includes ensemble direction, individual and group lessons, and concert evenings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students across various levels of proficiency.
  • Develop and lead ensembles and chamber music groups to perform at concerts and other events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create engaging music programs that cater to diverse student needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to students as they prepare for exams and performances.
Requirements
  • Relevant skills and experience in musicianship and tutelage of upper strings in a school environment.
  • Advanced skills as an Upper Strings Tutor.
  • Current experience tutoring students (all levels) in accordance with AMEB syllabus for examination preparation.
  • A demonstrated ability to enthuse, motivate and encourage students to participate in School Music ensembles.
  • A current Working with Children Check is essential for this position.
