Job Title

Beacon Legal is seeking a highly motivated and proactive projects or energy lawyer to support a dynamic legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of transactional and regulated legal matters in a company driving Australia's transition to net zero.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of energy or infrastructure transactions in Australia, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence outcomes. They will be collaborative, adaptable, and self-motivated with strong problem-solving, commercial, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the negotiation, drafting, and review of commercial contracts such as EPC contracts, supply and install contracts, balance of plant contracts, PPAs/offtake agreements, connection agreements, and O&M agreements.
  • Advise on land acquisitions, planning approvals, and general commercial matters including NDAs, consultancy agreements, services agreements, and disputes.
  • Provide support and manage external counsel.
  • Advise on regulatory matters such as FIRB, Australian Financial Services Licenses, and Critical Infrastructure.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, including the development of precedent contracts, adoption of new processes, and delivering training to the team.
Requirements
  • Admitted as a lawyer in Australia.
  • Practising as a projects or energy lawyer for 4-8 years in private practice or in-house.
  • Strong understanding of energy or infrastructure transactions in Australia.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Strong problem-solving, commercial, and communication skills.
  • Thrives in dynamic and evolving environments.
