Long Term Underground Mining Planner

This is an exciting time to join our organisation. With production underway at several sites, a robust project pipeline, and rapid exploration across our tenements, we have a clear vision of sustainable multi-operation gold production.
We are seeking a Planning Engineer who will be responsible for the mid-term to longer term mine planning activities by developing effective plans, designs, and strategies to optimise mining productivity.
The ideal candidate will have experience in underground mining, preferably gold, with exposure to various mining methods and engineering. They should also have expertise in mine planning and scheduling software packages, such as Deswik (CAD and UGDB), and user of Ventsim.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Senior Mine Engineer, Alternate and UG Manager, to prepare, review and audit mid to longer term mine designs and plans ensuring any risks to plans are identified and mitigated.
Key accountabilities include:
- Prepare, review and audit mid to longer term mine designs and plans.
- Collaborate with operations, geology, metallurgy, geotechnical, and production engineer teams for safe and practical design and mine plan execution.
- Complete stope designs to maximise economic extraction of ore.
- Undertake mine infrastructure analysis and projects to improve water and de-watering systems.
We are seeking a positive and motivated individual with adaptive thinking, who enjoys autonomy in their role with an ability to prioritise, analyse and problem solve. The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in underground mining, preferably gold, with exposure to various mining methods and engineering.
- Expertise in mine planning and scheduling software packages, such as Deswik (CAD and UGDB), and user of Ventsim.
- Able to work collaboratively, and with a diverse range of people across all levels.
