Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our Canberra offices. This role will be responsible for providing high-quality services and achieving efficiencies in our operations. The successful candidate will be directly engaged in the operations of the business, accountable for enhancing our reputation and image through exemplary customer interaction and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Distribute daily mail, code invoices, check and confirm bank reconciliations, lease outgoing reconciliations, and perform other related tasks.
- Handle phone and email enquiries in an effective and efficient manner, liaising with the AP team.
- Maintain and monitor accounts payable for designated clients.
- Assist the Finance Administrator with client reporting and other ad hoc tasks.
- Ensure void cheques are actioned according to finance guidelines.
- Provide a high level of customer service to clients, third parties, and other staff members.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, managing a designated mailbox for accounts payable.
We are looking for a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role with a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Excellent communication skills – telephone, written, and in-person are essential.
- At least intermediate level of competency in office products such as Word and Excel.
- The ability to 'own' responsibilities and processes.
- Initiative and the ability to work within tight deadlines.
- Experience contributing to a culture of inclusion and high performance.
- Sound written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage deliverables on a daily basis.
