Job Overview

The Role:

As a Platform Engineer, you will provide critical technical expertise for business projects, leading and delivering robust infrastructure solutions.

This role involves transforming, modernising, and supporting our organisation's critical workloads across both on-premise infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.

You will be instrumental in developing platform roadmaps, planning and implementing changes to enhance infrastructure performance, meet audit and security requirements, and participating in system patching and upgrades with a focus on continuous improvement.

A key aspect of this role is also undertaking new education and learning opportunities to strengthen the infrastructure footprint and sharing knowledge across technology teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to infrastructure platforms to meet current and future organisational needs.
  • Provide responsive and specialist technical support as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Share knowledge to develop technical roadmaps and lead project planning and improvement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in infrastructure performance, reliability, scalability, efficiency, and security.
  • Participate in cloud migration processes, evaluating and recommending new technologies.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to automate deployment and maintenance processes.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting tools for proactive issue resolution.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the Infrastructure Technology knowledge base and procedures.
  • Build capability in junior staff through training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Act as a Level 3 escalation point for critical and intricate problems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain awareness and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Undertake studies of new technologies and innovations to drive infrastructure evolution.
