Job Overview

The Victorian Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030 sets ambitious targets, including halving road deaths by 2030 and eliminating death from our roads by 2050. As the Senior Specialist, Compliance, you will lead compliance functions for Road Safety Camera Program projects.

This role involves overseeing compliance activities, providing expert advice on system functionality and regulatory matters, and managing risk management initiatives to ensure alignment with department standards and community expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading risk management and quality control initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinating the resolution of compliance and operational issues across project initiatives.
  • Providing expert advice to senior executives, policy makers, and project stakeholders on system functionality and operational risk.
Qualifications:
  • Experience leading compliance programs or regulatory operations in technical or road safety enforcement settings.
  • Proven project management experience, including successful delivery of infrastructure, regulatory, or ICT projects in government or regulated industries.
  • A strong understanding of legislative and technical standards, with experience interpreting and applying them in operational environments.
Working Requirements:

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks, which may include reference checks, national police checks, and misconduct screening. Other checks may include VicRoads checks, drivers licence checks, medical checks, Working with Children Checks, and Declaration of Private Interests.
