Job Title: Network Systems and Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role:

Vet Advisory Group PTY LTD is seeking a highly skilled Network Systems and Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all computer systems run with minimum or no downtime.
  • Configure, integrate, and deploy associated PCs, software, and peripherals.
  • Provide proactive progress information to users on outstanding support calls.
  • Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network and security infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Manage internet connectivity and troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues.
  • Administer servers and workstations, ensuring that the computer system is fully accounted for, properly maintained, and in good working condition.
  • Maintain the network infrastructure, providing recommendations for better performance, installing, and configuring services on the network.
  • Install, configure, and manage Windows Server 2012 R2, as well as DHCP and DNS.
  • Take weekly and monthly server/network backups.
  • Install software updates and license keys on the server.
  • Identify faults and errors through network audits and recommend security controls to eliminate or minimize potential effects.
  • Provide technical support to all Vet Resources and eLearning portal users and clients/subscribers.
  • Provide orientation, training, and application support to new starters for key applications used at Vet Advisory Group.
  • Manage Active Directory.
  • Provide support for mobile technologies, including iOS and Android.
  • Configure and maintain the phone system.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot issues related to printers/scanners and faxes.
  • Prepare and update training manuals and workflow guides for key applications used at Vet Advisory Group.
  • Manage web-site/intranet content.
  • Develop accurate monthly data reports for dissemination across all levels of management at Vet Advisory Group.
  • Manage error validation processes required to ensure timely preparation of monthly reports and statutory extracts.
  • Ensure system and data security is maintained at a high standard, ensuring the integrity of the Vet Advisory Group network is not compromised.
  • Liaise with external consultants for the procurement of ICT equipment and scheduling of maintenance activities as required.
  • Compile and maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software.
  • Compile technical projects and undertake other relevant duties directed by Manager.

Requirements:

  1. Diploma or higher-level qualifications or equivalent in Information Technology or other relevant field.
  2. A recent minimum of three years of relevant experience working as a computer network engineer in the last five years.
  3. A valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle.
  4. Ability to work independently and without supervision.
  5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide leadership to a small team.
  6. Demonstrate problem-solving skills and experience with diagnostics.
  7. Good oral communication skills.
  8. Ability to work with flexible hours, including weekends.
