**Job Title:**

The Accessibility Adviser plays a pivotal role in fostering inclusivity and equity within higher education institutions. This position entails collaborating with students to identify support requirements, developing tailored learning access plans, and delivering group programs to enhance student success.

This role promotes inclusive practice, universal design principles, and quality student service culture while maintaining accurate records using administrative systems. Additionally, it involves monitoring compliance with equal opportunity legislation in the provision of services to students.

About the Role:

  • A tertiary qualification in health sciences, social work, disability, or a related field is required, along with an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Demonstrated capability to deliver high-quality specialist support to individuals, with proven ability to identify and analyze complex problems.
  • Contemporary knowledge and experience working with relevant legislation, policies, processes, and guidelines related to equity, diversity, and disability are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills, including coordinating multiple processes, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines, are necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and form positive working relationships, are crucial.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in the higher education sector and/or knowledge of working within an academic environment is highly desirable.
  • An ability to influence decisions, actions, or perceptions of others and be collaborative and collegial when doing so is required.
  • Personal attributes congruent with the institution's values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence, and Courage are essential.
