Houseperson - Novotel Sydney West HQ

At Novotel Sydney West HQ, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Houseperson to join our Housekeeping team. As a Houseperson, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel, ensuring our staff and guests have a safe, comfortable, and inviting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Linen Management: Order, rotate, fold, and manage clean linen, ensuring frequent removal of dirty linen from floors and chemical room, following all correct manual handling and safe work practices.
  • Storage and Maintenance: Maintain linen storage area, cage area, bin room, chemical room, and linen storerooms to a high standard.
  • Support Room Attendants: Ensure room attendants' trolleys are stocked with linen and assist removing dirty linen bags from trolleys regularly throughout the shift.
  • Stock Management: Restock linen storerooms multiple times per day.
  • Minor Maintenance: Perform minor, non-skilled maintenance requests at the direction of management, such as blocked sinks, toilets, tightening hinges/screws on furniture, refitting curtains, and adjusting fridge temperatures.
  • Delivery and Distribution: Accept deliveries from suppliers and distribute to the correct location as required.
  • Assistance: Assist room attendants when directed, including stripping linen and rubbish from rooms and making beds.

Requirements:

  • Hotel Experience: Sound understanding of hotel housekeeping operations (minimum 4-star property).
  • Linen Management: Experience with linen management.
  • Teamwork: Highly motivated and task-oriented, with a can-do attitude and excellent team work skills.
  • Presentation and Customer Service: Immaculate presentation and excellent customer service skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform the inherent requirements of the role, including frequent bending, lifting, stretching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and lifting of heavy/bulky items.
