Houseperson - Novotel Sydney West HQ

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Houseperson to join our team at Novotel Sydney West HQ. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage linen inventory, including ordering, rotating, and folding clean linen, as well as removing dirty linen from floors and the chemical room.
  • Maintain linen storage areas, the cage area, bin room, chemical room, and linen storerooms to a high standard.
  • Ensure room attendants' trolleys are stocked with linen and assist with removing dirty linen bags from trolleys regularly throughout the shift.
  • Restock linen storerooms multiple times per day.
  • Perform minor, non-skilled maintenance requests, such as unclogging sinks, tightening hinges, and adjusting curtain tracks.
  • Accept deliveries from suppliers and distribute them to the correct location as required.
  • Assist room attendants with tasks such as stripping linen and rubbish from rooms and making beds.

Requirements:

  • Sound understanding of hotel housekeeping operations (minimum 4-star property).
  • Experience with linen management.
  • Highly motivated and task-oriented individual with a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent team work skills and ability to contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Immaculate presentation and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform the inherent requirements of the role, including frequent bending, lifting, stretching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and lifting heavy/bulky items.
