Health Service Researcher Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Service Researcher to join our team at the Sydney Infectious Diseases Institute in Westmead.

  • You will support investigators, infectious diseases, sexual health and reproductive health clinicians and academics to undertake a sexual and reproductive health needs assessment of temporary migrants to Australia under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme in rural and regional NSW.
Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with researchers and stakeholders to identify and recruit study participants across NSW.
  • Travel to various locations in NSW to conduct participant interviews and collect data in a culturally safe and sensitive manner.
  • Analyse the collected data using suitable qualitative software in liaison with the investigator team.
  • Contribute to drafting project reports and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Help project investigators prepare presentation of findings to the NSW Ministry of Health and other stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively within a team and support other team members as needed.
Requirements:
  • A PhD in an infectious diseases/sexual and reproductive health/public health/related field is desirable.
  • Proven experience in qualitative research methods, including framework analysis and semi-structured interviews.
  • Knowledge of academic research integrity and ethics; current Good Clinical Practice certification is desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively.
  • Prior experience conducting qualitative research with Pacific Island communities is highly desirable.
  • A strong organisational skillset and attention to detail are essential.
