Supportive Community Worker

As a Supportive Community Worker, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for marginalized individuals.
About the Position:We are seeking a compassionate and highly motivated individual to provide direct support to residents, engage them in programs and services, and advocate on their behalf. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our team to foster a culture of respect and empathy.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide individualized counseling sessions to identify clients' problems, needs, and risks.
- Develop strong relationships with residents built on trust and understanding.
- Assist in program development and delivery of services that cater to the unique needs of our community.
- Liaise with partner agencies and other professionals/support teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Respond to medical emergencies, including overdoses, and maintain a safe environment at all times.
- A diploma in a related human/social service field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of one (1) year recent related experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Training in or knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approach.
