Overview

We are seeking experienced and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our rewarding company in the Geelong area. As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing care and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them lead independent and fulfilling lives. This is an entry-level position suitable for candidates passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support and care to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and household chores.
  • Develop personalized care plans in collaboration with clients' families or guardians.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions as recommended by healthcare professionals.
  • Encourage clients' participation in social activities and community integration.
  • Monitor and document clients' progress toward their goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, doctors, nurses, and other support workers to ensure holistic care.

  • Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly in dynamic situations.
  • Patience when working with individuals who may have challenging behaviors or communication difficulties.
Qualifications
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification highly desirable but not essential for entry-level positions. Relevant experience will be considered.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred but can be obtained upon hiring if necessary.
  • Driver's license, fully insured car is necessary
