The SA Health Bariatric Fellowship and General Surgery Research Registrar positions offer an opportunity to shape healthcare's future in South Australia.

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to clinical practice, research, and patient care across various settings, collaborating with teams, teaching, and participating in on-call duties. Reporting to the Director of Surgery and Specialty Services, your role involves supervising residents and students, ensuring appropriate management of patients, and providing after-hours care as required.

  • Supervising resident staff and students, providing guidance and advice
  • Ensuring effective patient management in Emergency Departments and Outpatients
  • Providing high-quality patient care in wards, investigational areas, emergency departments, and outpatients
  • Teaching registrars, junior medical officers, and medical students

A commitment to quality patient service, broad clinical experience, and competence in surgery are essential. A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, along with registrable status with the Medical Board of Australia, is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guiding and mentoring resident staff and students to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Developing and implementing effective patient management strategies in Emergency Departments and Outpatients
  • Delivering high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, including wards, investigational areas, emergency departments, and outpatients
  • Providing educational support to registrars, junior medical officers, and medical students
Qualifications and Experience:

A relevant degree, such as a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, registrable status with the Medical Board of Australia is required.
