About the Role

A brand-new opportunity has arisen for a mid-level Business Systems Analyst to join us on a full-time basis in our Sydney office.

  • Gather, analyse and document business requirements for client reporting, projects and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including partners and other lawyers to understand the data sets required and their purpose.
  • Work together with other teams to provide information and bespoke solutions for complex legal reports.
  • Understand the design of data capture screens in order to work with internal and external resources to deliver the required screens.
  • Extract insights from large datasets to make data-driven recommendations, present data in reports, pivot tables and visualisations, and assist with the identification and correction of invalid data.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to optimise data management processes and operational effectiveness.
Key Skills and Attributes
  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst, ideally with experience gained in a law firm or professional services setting.
  • A high level of understanding in data analysis tools and techniques including SQL, Excel, SSRS and PowerBI.
  • Highly developed skills in capturing, organising and detailing business needs in the context of legal services and operations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in order to discuss projects, complex technical concepts, and present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into practical solutions.
  • An ability to cope with changing and competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with Aderant Expert or Legal Practice Management systems would be advantageous.
