Overview:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Biodiversity Planning Officer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Biodiversity Planning Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of biodiversity planning. You will provide expert technical advice and lead the assessment of development applications to ensure the protection and enhancement of natural assets and ecological values.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. A degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline such as environmental planning, ecology, biology or natural sciences.
  2. Expertise in undertaking environmental surveys and mapping, including site assessments and flora and fauna surveys.
  3. Experience with biodiversity conservation legislation, including the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
  4. Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  5. Computer literacy, including proficiency in geographic information systems (GIS).
