At Wingecarribee Shire Council, our goal is to create sustainable growth through strategic planning. We are looking for an experienced Strategic Planner to lead and manage a range of land use and planning policy initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a degree in town planning or a related field, with demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in strategic land use planning. They will be able to analyze complex data, identify community and stakeholder requirements, and develop strategies to guide policy, plans, and actions.

They will also be able to critically assess local opportunities and constraints, as well as broader contexts of planning frameworks, to inform objective opinions on proposals. The ideal candidate will be resilient, have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have the ability to prepare and deliver high-quality, coherent, and professional plans and reports on strategic planning matters to a wide audience. They will be able to engage and influence stakeholders through clear, concise, and accurate communication, and build professional relationships within the development industry and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
">1. Develop and implement strategic land use planning policies and projects.
">2. Analyze complex data and identify community and stakeholder requirements.
">3. Develop strategies to guide policy, plans, and actions.
">4. Prepare and deliver high-quality, coherent, and professional plans and reports on strategic planning matters.
">5. Engage and influence stakeholders through clear, concise, and accurate communication.
">6. Build professional relationships within the development industry and the community.
