Seeking Registered Nurses and Nurse-Midwives for a unique opportunity in remote area healthcare.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for experienced RNs or RN-Midwives who can provide primary healthcare to patients in our clinics. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with medical officers, program staff, Anangu staff, and other health personnel to deliver patient-centered care.
- Treating acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions, managing computerised recalls, and conducting patient follow-up care.
- Child health monitoring and immunisations.
- Administering adult and COVID-19 vaccinations across all age groups.
- Delivering patient health education.
- Assessing and referring social welfare issues.
- Conducting public health screenings for communicable diseases, including STIs, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis A, B & C.
- Managing antenatal and postnatal care.
- Supporting job-specific education for training Anangu staff.
- Performing day-to-day clinic administration tasks.
Our clinics are located in the far north-western region of South Australia, covering approximately 103,000 square kilometres with a population of approximately 3,000 Anangu people. The region is freehold land owned and managed by the Anangu people.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor of Nursing degree and registration with the National Board of Nursing and Midwifery.
- At least 3 years of post-graduation work experience, with recent acute medical/A&E exposure.
- Demonstrated experience working in a clinical environment and hospital-based general nursing experience in the past 3 years.
- Strong cultural awareness and respect.
- Advanced clinical skills and confidence in managing diverse patient presentations, including trauma, acute, and chronic conditions across all age groups.
Midwives must have significant experience in acute general work within the past 5 years.
