We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Grand Pacific Health. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals struggling with mental health issues.

About the Role:

  • As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals to access mental health services and navigate the complexities of the healthcare system.
  • You will work collaboratively with a team of mental health professionals and external service providers to deliver integrated and holistic care.
  • With a focus on person-centred support, you will connect consumers with appropriate services and community supports, ensuring they receive the right care at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing practical support to individuals navigating the mental health system
  • Facilitating access to care and linking consumers with relevant services
  • Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals and external service providers
  • Addressing barriers to accessing services through information sharing, education, and warm referrals
  • Supporting consumers throughout their journey as a key point of contact

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in mental health, health, community services, or social sciences
  • An understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of individuals with mental health and/or substance use issues
  • A solid knowledge of community and regional services available to support consumers in Wagga Wagga and the surrounding areas
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with consumers, their families, and carers
