Mental health support workers play a vital role in the lives of those who suffer from psychosocial disabilities. They are responsible for providing crisis support, emotional support, and assistance with daily duties. Mental health support professionals need to be very good at communicating, patient, and empathetic in order to make a difference.

**A mental health support worker carries out a range of tasks including**:

- Helping people with mental health issues by giving them emotional support.
- Helping clients with everyday tasks, like cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
- Working in a team to create and follow care plans for each person.
- Helping participants in moments of crisis.
- Leading fun activities that enrich participants lives like group talks, art, or relaxation exercises.
- Encouraging participants in social events and groups to make friends and build a support network.
- Keeping an eye on how clients are doing and telling health professionals if there are any big changes or worries.
- Maintaining client records and keeping confidential information private.
- Assistance with appointments and advocating for needs and rights of participants.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $34.00 - $44.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
