
Dairy Plant Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Coordinator to join our Industrial Team in Rowville. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will be responsible for day-to-day management of all maintenance resources including plant and equipment repairs, maintenance and installations.
The successful candidate will lead and manage trades employees and contractors, ensuring the completion of planned and unplanned maintenance works to guarantee reliable operation of all areas of the factory with minimum plant downtime.
Key accountabilities include:
- Leading and managing trades employees and contractors;
- Managing completion of planned and unplanned maintenance works to ensure reliable operation of all areas of the factory with minimum plant downtime;
- Increasing sites operational effectiveness through improvements on project delivery, downtime reduction initiatives and completion of root-cause analysis for repeated breakdowns ensuring standard approach is taken;
- Implementing and managing continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes;
- Planning, managing and executing CAPEX Projects, budget management and scope of works;
- Ensuring maintenance operation performs within budgetary guidelines and Business Plan objectives are achieved;
- Providing technical support and oversight of day to day maintenance operations to ensure timely and accurate maintenance response;
- Improving planned and predicative maintenance standards;
- Ensuring compliance with all company and industry regulations and standards in manufacturing process.
About You:
To succeed in this role, the following knowledge and skills are required:
- Trade Qualification as Mechanical Fitter or Industrial Electrician;
- Previous experience in engineering maintenance, working within Dairy or FMCG industry;
- Knowledge of food manufacturing machinery and equipment;
- Proven ability to trouble-shoot, analyse and problem solve;
- Demonstrated leadership ability;
- Previous experience in managing unionised workforce;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Results orientation;
- Strategic thinking;
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, both internal and external;
- Flexibility to provide after-hours support to site as required.
