About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Dairy Cattle Farm Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent knowledge and skills in dairy farm operations, with a strong focus on milking and animal care.
Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety while operating milking plant and equipment;
- Identify and report any issues with equipment or processes that may impact milk quality or animal welfare;
- Work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team to achieve common goals;
- Monitor and record instrument data, including milk vat temperatures and cow numbers;
- Understand and adhere to safe working practices at all times;
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, making adjustments and changes as needed;
- Apply problem-solving skills and make informed decisions within established guidelines;
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of scientific principles and terminology, supporting processes such as machine repair, artificial insemination, and fertilizer mix design;
- Operate standard measuring equipment and computerized systems using menu options;
- Contribute to team efforts, providing input and assistance to colleagues as needed;
- Work independently, with minimal supervision, when required.
Requirements
- AQF certificate II or III in Agriculture (or equivalent);
- At least one (1) year of recent and relevant work experience.
