The organization is seeking an experienced Aged Care Medication Specialist to join its team. The role involves administering medication, communicating effectively with residents and their families, and participating in the development and evaluation of care plans.

About the Role

This position requires a strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills to ensure accurate and timely administration of medication. The successful candidate will have a Certificate IV in Aged Care and knowledge and experience in administering medication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed by medical professionals while maintaining accurate records.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with residents and their families to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Care Plan Development: Participate in the development and evaluation of individualized care plans that cater to each resident's unique needs.
  • Maintenance of Resident Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident interactions, including medication administration and care plans.
  • Daily Activities: Assist residents with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
Requirements:
  • Certificate IV in Aged Care: Possess a valid Certificate IV in Aged Care, demonstrating a high level of knowledge and skill in aged care principles and practices.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Have extensive knowledge and experience in administering medication, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Strong Attention to Detail: Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, particularly when handling medications and documenting resident information.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in using computer systems and software to maintain accurate records and track resident progress.
  • Care Plan Documentation: Skilled in documenting care plans and maintaining accurate records of resident interactions.
  • Excellent Time Management: Possess excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
