Position Summary
The Director of Asset Management will be instrumental in formulating market strategies and ensuring the effective delivery of projects. This role involves close collaboration with the Technical Director on partnership strategies and engaging with the practice supply chain. The Director will work alongside SNC Lavalin's global market leaders, particularly in key regions. Additionally, they will oversee or assist in the project delivery process.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for establishing trusted, sustainable relationships with clients.
- Promote best practices and a cutting-edge approach to implementing Asset Management Principles across various sectors.
- Contribute to the formulation and execution of the annual business strategy.
- Identify and mitigate portfolio risks effectively.
- Act as Project Director when necessary.
- Ensure a comprehensive review process for projects based on risk assessment.
- Manage successful bidding processes to establish a sustainable work pipeline.
- Lead and develop our market proposition and thought leadership in collaboration with our Win Work teams.
- Ensure adherence to SNC Lavalin's bidding processes, including Service Delivery Process and other governance frameworks.
- Evaluate market conditions and support the innovation of services and technical methodologies to build a resilient organization.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing abilities.
- Extensive experience in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) or Private Finance Initiative (PFI) projects, particularly during construction and operational phases.
- Proven track record in negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Experience in developing and securing bids along with governance knowledge.
- Strong understanding of contractual, commercial, and project delivery aspects, especially in large and complex projects.
- A comprehensive leadership and management background with demonstrable project portfolio management experience.
- Ability to lead and support diverse teams in bid and project delivery.
- Detail-oriented with strong numerical skills, capable of integrating experience with analytical reasoning.
- Extensive background in the infrastructure sector, particularly with privately financed projects.
- Experience in sectors such as Road, Rail, Water, Defence, Power, and Renewables is highly desirable.
- Possession of Asset Management certifications, including Certified Asset Management Assessor.
- Ideally, experience in roles as Client, Contractor, Operator, and Consultant throughout the project lifecycle.
