We're looking for a Communications Specialist to provide internal communications and podcasting support. This role will help deliver high-quality internal and external communications to promote our purpose and strategic objectives.

This position encompasses various responsibilities, including:

  • Managing our intranet, writing and publishing timely content about key initiatives, projects and content in partnership with stakeholders
  • Overall operational maintenance, including user permissions, training and resources, and troubleshooting with our tech team as required
  • Managing the fortnightly production of our staff e-newsletter Inside SBS
  • Internal and external event management for regular staff town halls, Parliamentary Showcases and staff 'Learning at Lunchtime' program of activities
  • Helping manage communications/PR for our podcasts, developing media releases, statements, Q&As and briefing materials, planning communications timelines, managing media enquiries and coordinating stakeholder engagement
  • Supporting Audio Description and translation across key projects
  • 3-5+ years of experience in media, communications, agency or a related area, with expertise in developing and delivering projects, campaigns and/or events
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience using digital platforms and/or content management systems, such as Sharepoint
  • Experience using Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro will be highly regarded
