Rehabilitation Support Role

We are seeking to recruit motivated individuals to provide person-centred rehabilitation support to patients in our Intermediate Care Frailty/Stroke facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encouraging patients to participate in activities of daily living and facilitating their active involvement in therapeutic activities
  • Assisting patients in working towards rehabilitation goals to enhance independence and wellbeing
  • Manual handling of patients as required – in line with our policy
  • Observing, recording and reporting changes in patient health and environment to senior staff
  • Completing observations including urinalysis and blood sugar monitoring as required
  • Collecting patient specimens as required
  • Observing and recording dietary needs and fluid intake as required
  • Supporting the senior team with visits, case conferences, etc., as necessary
  • Working directly with therapists within the team to support effective assessment and treatment

The HCA Academy is an initiative between us and Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust to support incoming Healthcare Assistant workforce. The academy models a 'one workforce' cross-system approach to onboarding, induction, education and experience of Healthcare Assistants.

Selected candidates will be required to attend a five-day face-to-face induction programme at the MSE ICS Education Hub at Brentwood Community Hospital. This will be followed by an additional five-day corporate / mandatory training welcome.
