Job Summary

The Department of Health, Tasmania is seeking a highly skilled Senior Respiratory Scientist to join our team at the North West Regional Hospital. As a key member of our respiratory function laboratory, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our lung function laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and management of the operation and development of the lung function laboratory, ensuring compliance with Department requirements and national standards.
  • Provide safe, high-quality patient care through the delivery of laboratory operations, staff training, and performance of routine and complex testing.
  • Participate in educational and research activities to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team and contribute to the advancement of respiratory function testing.

Requirements

  • Eligible for membership of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
  • Experience or an equivalent qualification in respiratory function testing and equipment, such as arterial blood gas testing and venepuncture.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills, high interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Competitive salary range of $106,966 - $123,013 pro rata, per annum, with an additional 11.5% superannuation contribution.
