Job Summary:
The Department of Health, Tasmania is seeking a highly skilled Senior Respiratory Scientist to join our team at the North West Regional Hospital. As a key member of our respiratory function laboratory, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and management of the lung function laboratory, ensuring compliance with departmental requirements and national standards.
- Provide safe, high-quality patient care through the delivery of laboratory operations, staff training, and performance of routine and complex testing.
- Participate in educational and research activities, contributing to the advancement of respiratory medicine.
- Collaborate with clinical directors to develop and implement strategies for the operation and development of the lung function laboratory.
Requirements:
- Eligible for membership of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
- Experience or an equivalent qualification in respiratory function testing and equipment, such as arterial blood gas testing and venepuncture.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills, high interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
