Embedded Expertise is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Expertise Lead to play a key role in protecting our digital assets and ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for detecting vulnerabilities, ensuring adherence to security protocols, and swiftly addressing cybersecurity incidents. They will safeguard sensitive data, maintain system integrity, and prevent unauthorised access, thereby ensuring a robust security stance in an ever-changing threat landscape.

This role involves collaborating with the Cyber Security Analyst to analyse security data and trends, working closely with the Senior Systems Engineer to ensure secure system configurations and deployments, and leading incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.

Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices, identifying and assessing security risks, and recommending mitigation strategies to reduce risk exposure. Additionally, the successful candidate will conduct security awareness training and provide guidance to staff on security best practices.

About You

  • We are looking for a candidate with minimum 3 years of experience in cyber security, with a strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies, and experience in penetration testing or ethical hacking.
  • You should have proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure, are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, are required.
  • A willingness to work collaboratively in a small team environment, with a willingness to overlap and support other roles as needed, is necessary.
