Embedded Expertise is seeking a seasoned Cybersecurity Engineer to lead our security operations and protect our digital assets. This critical role requires an expert who can detect vulnerabilities, ensure adherence to security protocols, and swiftly address cybersecurity incidents.

About the Role:

  • Security Operations: Monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct vulnerability assessments, and implement security measures to safeguard our systems against cyber threats.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Cyber Security Analyst to analyse security data and trends, and with the Senior Systems Engineer to ensure secure system configurations and deployments.
  • Incident Response: Lead and participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Security Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess security risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to reduce risk exposure. Identify security gaps and provide actionable solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Security Awareness: Conduct security awareness training and provide guidance to staff on security best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats, and continuously improve our security posture.

About You:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in cyber security, with a strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies, preferably with experience in penetration testing or ethical hacking.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment, with a willingness to overlap and support other roles as needed.
