We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team at Embedded Expertise in Adelaide, Australia. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in security principles and practices.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in protecting our digital assets and ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems.

About the Role

  • Security Operations: Monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct vulnerability assessments, and implement security measures to protect against cyber threats.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Cyber Security Analyst to analyse security data and trends, and with the Senior Systems Engineer to ensure secure system configurations and deployments.
  • Incident Response: Lead and participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Security Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess security risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to reduce risk exposure. Identify security gaps and provide actionable solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Security Awareness: Conduct security awareness training and provide guidance to staff on security best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats, and continuously improve our security posture.

About You

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in cyber security, with a strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies, with experience in penetration testing or ethical hacking.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment, with a willingness to overlap and support other roles as needed.

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications.
