Job Description

We are currently re-architecting the Storage Layer Services Team to enhance our existing MongoDB cloud storage architecture and power more of our customers' use cases more efficiently. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our multi-year roadmap, working collaboratively with a strong culture of inclusivity, diversity, and collaboration.

You will develop secure multi-tenant cloud-native storage solutions to ensure performance, automatic failover, and zero downtime. You will also implement and operate production-ready applications in Rust, diagnose test failures and performance regressions, and implement fixes.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead development and project management for large, cross-team initiatives. You will identify, design, implement, test, and support new features related to Storage Layer Services while contributing to the operational excellence of running a cloud service.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in programming, debugging, and performance tuning of distributed and/or highly concurrent software systems. They should also have strong systems fundamentals, including multi-threaded programming and performance profiling.

Requirements

  • Experience with distributed systems
  • Proven experience in building, deploying, and operating multi-tenant cloud services with a focus on operational excellence
  • Familiarity with database internals or experience building core components for data processing systems
  • Experience with large backend/compiled codebases, preferably in Rust or C/C++
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
