Clinical Expertise in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine

Job Description

To provide exceptional clinical expertise and outstanding service in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine, encompassing in-theatre, acute pain, preadmission clinic, delivery-suite, and other clinical and non-clinical duties as determined by the director of anaesthesiology and perioperative medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • To deliver high-quality clinical care and expertise in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine (including in-theatre, acute pain, preadmission clinic, delivery-suite, and other clinical and non-clinical duties as determined by the director of anaesthesiology and perioperative medicine)
  • This role plays a vital part in providing direction and guidance to the Anaesthetic group across a range of responsibilities, reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer.
  • The Department provides a comprehensive Preadmission Clinic, Acute Pain Service, and access to a wide range of anaesthetic experience.
  • The successful applicant will be required to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, apply theoretical knowledge and experience in determining the appropriate clinical diagnosis, investigations, and treatment of patients, and supervise registrars/provisional trainees as appropriate, HMOs and interns in the Anaesthetics Department of the Hospital.

  • FANZCA qualification is mandatory for this position.
