We are seeking a Behaviour Support Nurse to join our team at St Vincent's Care Services. As a Behaviour Support Nurse, you will play a critical role in supporting our residents with complex behaviours in a residential aged care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support new or challenging behaviours in residents associated with cognitive impairments
- Work closely with residents, their Next of Kin, and staff to develop and implement behaviour management plans
- Provide education and training to staff on behaviour management and dementia care
- Collaborate with the Development & Delivery Team Leader to develop and implement education programs
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing is essential. Postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
- Comprehensive clinical leadership with a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Clinical Manager or Facility Manager in residential aged care
- Experience in working with residents with complex behaviours in a residential aged care environment, specifically dementia-specific homes
- Comprehensive understanding of dementia and associated cognitive impairments
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards, including SIRS & National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicators Program
