Linux Support Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Linux Support Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT Operations Team, you will be responsible for managing the server and storage infrastructure that supports our trading business.

This includes trading systems colocated at global exchanges running on overclocked servers, FPGAs, and low-latency network hardware. Our environment includes a range of physical and hypervisor platforms, on-prem SAN/NAS storage (Hitachi, Dell, HP), as well as cloud storage and cloud compute. Precision timing systems ensure accurate synchronisation essential to our trading operations.

About You
  • You are a detail-oriented individual with strong reasoning skills, able to think several steps ahead.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in a similar role, bringing precision and expertise to complex environments.
  • You are proactive and responsive, adapting solutions quickly to problems.
Responsibilities
  • Owning Linux server and storage environments
  • Managing hardware lifecycles, planning capacity, and building high-performance systems
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to optimise outcomes and troubleshoot issues
  • Continuously improving automation, monitoring, metrics, and backup strategies
