Dispensary Pharmacist Opportunity

This part-time role involves providing medication and support services to patients, carers, and staff at our hospital in Melbourne.

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a reliable pharmacist to cover a 13-month period, working every Friday from 8am to 6pm. The Dispensary Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications and pharmacy products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense and supply medications and pharmacy products as required.
  • Coordinate medication needs for patients, including discharges and outpatient requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, carers, and hospital staff.
  • Attend to front-of-shop duties and support daily operations of the dispensary.
  • Educate customers on medication use, health promotion, and general pharmacy queries.
  • Support patients, carers, hospital staff, and associated employees.
  • Educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection, and proper medication use.
  • Prepare and package medications in dosage as necessary.
  • Ensure smooth operation of the pharmacy.
  • Participate in other dispensary duties as needed.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you should be a registered pharmacist with strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) and Australian working rights. Excellent communication and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to work autonomously and multitask.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist with no restrictions on practice.
  • Strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
  • Australian working rights, valid for at least 13 months from employment start date.
  • Effective time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
