
Aboriginal Child and Family Support Specialist

About the RoleThis challenging yet fulfilling position involves working sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people to identify and address safety and well-being concerns. As an Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker, you will work collaboratively with other agencies to develop and implement case plans that cater to the unique needs of each family.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children.
- Manage complex cases involving high-risk clients and their families, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Participate in court processes, including the preparation of court documents and attending court proceedings.
- Engage in regular supervision and training to maintain expertise and stay up-to-date on best practices in the field.
To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with community members and stakeholders. A valid driver's license and paid working with children clearance number are also essential requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of this role include:
- Developing and implementing individualized case plans that prioritize the needs of each client.

- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of client interactions and case progress.

RequirementsTo be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A diploma or degree in a relevant field (social work, child protection, etc.).
- At least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid driver's license.
- A paid working with children clearance number.
