We are currently seeking a talented Communication Specialist to join our team.

About the role

The Communication Specialist will play a vital role in providing media and issues management support and advice to our business units, senior executives, and ministerial offices.

This includes building and protecting our reputation by showcasing our work through media releases, media opportunities, and events.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertaking day-to-day media liaison work including researching and drafting responses to media requests, drafting media releases, and managing proactive media opportunities and events.
  • Undertaking horizon scanning and media analysis on topics relevant to us.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to identify and manage potential media risks and issues early, including developing mitigation strategies.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with ministerial offices, senior executives, department staff, media, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate experience in media liaison work, horizon scanning, and stakeholder management.
