Child Health Care Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Health Care Professional to join our team at Launceston General Hospital. As a dedicated member of our paediatric inpatient unit, Wombat Ward, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and developmentally appropriate care to young patients and their families.
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, managing IV therapy, and responding to changes in patient condition. You will also engage with families to provide education, emotional support, and guidance throughout the child's hospital stay.

Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Care: Administering medications, monitoring vital signs, managing IV therapy, and responding to changes in patient condition.
- Family-Centred Support: Engaging with families to provide education, emotional support, and guidance throughout the child's hospital stay.
- Care Coordination: Collaborating with paediatricians, allied health professionals, and external services to ensure continuity of care.
- Documentation & Communication: Maintaining accurate clinical records and communicating effectively with the healthcare team.
- Patient Advocacy: Ensuring the rights, safety, and wellbeing of paediatric patients are upheld at all times.
- Education & Mentorship: Supporting student nurses and participating in ongoing professional development.
