Civil Works Assistant Role

Are you a detail-oriented and reliable individual looking for a challenging role in maintaining public spaces? We are seeking a skilled Civil Works Assistant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in similar roles, national police clearance, and a current NSW Class MR Driver's license. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of public spaces;
  • Assisting with the maintenance of Council's Shire Presentation Infrastructure Assets;
  • Cleaning public spaces and pits;
  • Monitoring stockpile sites;
  • Performing minor concreting and paving works;
  • Assisting with waste collection and emergency response.

To succeed in this role, you must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with other team members to achieve common goals and provide excellent service to our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of Public Spaces:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about keeping our public spaces clean and safe. As a Civil Works Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our community has access to well-maintained public areas.

  • Assistance with Maintenance:

You will assist with the maintenance of Council's Shire Presentation Infrastructure Assets, which includes cleaning and inspecting infrastructure such as playgrounds, sports fields, and public art installations.

  • Cleaning and Waste Management:

You will be responsible for cleaning public spaces and pits, as well as assisting with waste collection and emergency response. This includes ensuring that all waste is disposed of properly and responding to emergencies in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Stockpile Site Monitoring:

You will monitor stockpile sites to ensure that they are maintained in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. This includes inspecting stockpiles regularly and reporting any issues or concerns to management.

  • Concreting and Paving Works:

You will perform minor concreting and paving works, including repairing damaged surfaces and installing new pavement materials.

Requirements

  • Experience:

Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role is required. Previous experience in a maintenance or construction-related field would be highly regarded.

  • National Police Certificate:

A National Police Certificate (NPC) or Working With Vulnerable People check is mandatory for this role.

  • NSW Class MR Driver's Licence:

A current NSW Class MR Driver's licence is required for this role.
