About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Talent & Culture Executive to join our team at M Gallery. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and engage top talent within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance Management
    • Ensure that department managers adhere to our performance management process and provide support in performance-related discussions with team members.
    • Maintain effective performance evaluation systems for operational team members and corporate staff.
  • Learning and Development
    • Oversee the supervision of training activities within the hotel, ensuring that all training is aligned with the needs of the organization and executed smoothly.
    • Complete all mandatory training through our internal development programs and ensure that team members are compliant with the standards outlined in this training.
    • Conduct regular training needs analysis and design, conduct, and evaluate training programs.
    • Implement processes that allow team members to develop their skills, advance their careers, and contribute to the organization's growth.
  • Talent Acquisition and On-Boarding
    • Develop and implement recruiting and screening systems and procedures to attract top candidates for position vacancies.
    • Coordinate with departments to requisition talent, assist in the orientation, training, development, and evaluation of their teams.
    • Conduct initial screening interviews for operational positions, undertake telephone reference checks, and place job advertisements.
  • Compliance & Reporting
    • Maintain and advise on T&C policy to team members within the limits of established rules and regulations.
    • Maintain current knowledge of industrial relations, including legislative changes.
  • General Talent & Culture Duties
    • Assist with regular inspections of team facilities, including locker rooms, canteens, recreation rooms, first aid rooms, and other areas provided for team welfare and benefit.
    • Ensure that team member presentation is consistent with our hotel's team member handbook, uniforms are correctly presented, and name badges are worn.
  • Work Health and Safety (WHS)
    • Implement and continuously improve policies and procedures to ensure a pleasant, healthy, and safe work environment for all team members.
    • Manage workplace injuries and workers' compensation claims and the return-to-work programs for injured employees.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a T&C/HR capacity within the hospitality environment.
  • Possess hands-on experience across the end-to-end T&C cycle, including recruitment, WHS, performance management, and learning and development.
  • Thorough understanding of Australian employment legislation, including the Modern Award.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using Zambion or other similar time and attendance systems is desirable.
