About This Opportunity

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Consultant to join our Planning team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary projects, you will leverage your technical expertise and proven skills to provide sound statutory and strategic urban planning advice and insights to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to complex projects working collaboratively with our economists, heritage planners, urban designers, social planners, and transport planners.
  • Provide a range of services including advice relating to land use, development capability, due diligence assessments, master plans, approval processes, and project management.
  • Develop client relationships by building trust, providing quality advice, and managing expectations.
  • Write submissions, proposals, and advice that accurately reflect the client's needs.
  • Manage small to medium-size projects, including scoping, costing, tracking job costs, coordinating consultants, and sub-consultants as needed.
  • Identify and raise issues impacting fee estimates or timelines.
  • Coach and develop team members.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance and support the Planning team's Business Plan.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Urban Planning.
  • Some experience in managing planning projects.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory and strategic planning, and related legislation, ideally gained in a consultancy or local/State government environment.
  • Keen understanding of impacts and issues affecting land use and development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous professional development.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and can engage with various stakeholders.
