The city is seeking a passionate and experienced early childhood educator to fill the role of Early Years Consultant. This exciting opportunity focuses on enhancing the skills of educators to foster an inclusive environment that nurtures the wellbeing and development of children in their formative years.

About the Opportunity:
  • Act as a consultant and coach to early childhood educators, working collaboratively with them to cement the educator's ongoing relationship with the child and family.
  • Provide consultative support, resourcing, and practical advice to assist kindergarten teachers throughout the city.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Enhance the capacity and confidence of early childhood educators to provide an inclusive program responsive to the needs of all children.
  2. Manage referrals from early childhood services, families, and specialist agencies.
  3. Work with early childhood services to develop strategies that encourage participation by children with disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, and families at risk.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of evidenced-based practice, child development, and planning and evaluating responsive early childhood programs.
  • Ability to thrive within a team environment, contributing professional expertise and coaching practices.
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of the National Education and Care Act and Regulations, Child Safe Legislation, Early Years Learning Framework, and National Quality Standards.
  • Broad experience in funded kindergarten programs in community kindergartens and/or integrated early childhood services.
