About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our Youth Accommodation Support Services team at Mission Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Residential Youth Workers who provide intensive support to young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and intakes for clients, including all necessary paperwork and application forms.
  • Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders on a range of complex and sensitive issues and assist others in the resolution of conflict.
  • Assist staff with the day-to-day running of the service by providing supervision and program support in line with program outcomes.
  • Provide intensive ongoing person-centred case management in line with MA's National Case Management Approach and review progression against case plan.
  • Contribute to staff performance discussions when required including setting priorities and outcomes, planning and organising work and monitoring workflows.
Requirements for Success
  • Relevant university degree with relevant experience or other appropriate qualifications or experience acceptable to Mission Australia to perform the role.
  • Demonstrated experience and sound understanding of working with vulnerable people and the issues impacting them such as AOD, FDV, Homelessness and Mental Health issues.
  • Exceptional experience leading teams, developing a positive team culture and effective people management.
  • A positive and person-centred approach with a strong guiding belief about everyone's capacity to grow within and beyond their current circumstances.
  • Ability to manage a range of tasks including those which fall outside of case management to ensure others provide the support required for clients accessing the service.
  • Full driver licence with no restrictions.
