About Us :
We are the representative body of the Landcare movement in NSW, championing community-driven initiatives and sustainable practices.
Our organization empowers local groups and networks, fostering collaboration and capacity-building across the state. With a strong focus on natural resource management, we strive to protect and restore the environment for future generations.
History
In 2007, a group of volunteers recognized the need for a unified voice to represent the State's dedicated community Landcarers. This led to the establishment of Landcare NSW, which has since become a beacon for community-led conservation efforts.
What we do
We work tirelessly to promote sustainable land use practices, support community projects, and facilitate knowledge-sharing among stakeholders. Our initiatives encompass farmland, bushland, parkland, beaches, national parks, rivers, dunes, creeks, Crown land, public land, private land, forests, and travelling stock routes.
Our mission is to foster a culture of environmental stewardship, inclusivity, and social responsibility, thereby creating a better future for all.
Job Summary :
The Regional Community Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in driving our program's success, working closely with Regional Landcare Coordinators and Local Landcare Coordinators to build capacity and resources within Landcare Networks and Groups in NSW.
This role requires exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, and effective communication abilities to align objectives and deliver results.
Key Responsibilities :
Management and delivery of the Regional Community of Practice component of the NSW Landcare Program
Performance management, professional development, and training of RLCs and LLCs
Delivery of Community of Practice activities and milestones, ensuring on-budget, on-time, and exceeding expectations of stakeholders
Fostering open communication between Landcare NSW, Regional Landcare Groups, Local Landcare Groups, and the general Landcare community
Generating additional funding for Landcare Groups through partnerships with state government agencies, local government, corporates, philanthropy, and the general community
Critical Skills :
Five years minimum of industry experience delivering programs of a complex and multifaceted nature preferably in the area of natural resource management
Tertiary education in Natural Resource Management or equivalent industry experience
Proven project management using best practice project management software and methodology
