About the Role

The Head of HPE is a key leadership position responsible for supporting the mission of Catholic Education Cairns through the development and implementation of the HPE curriculum.

This involves:

  • Developing and implementing curriculum in line with National, State, and Diocesan requirements
  • Ensuring effective pedagogies are developed and implemented at all levels
  • Monitoring student learning and teacher practice through supervision and data analysis
  • Building partnerships within and outside the school
  • Prudently administering available resources

Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Formal qualifications in Education, Teaching, or a relevant field
  • Registration or eligibility to register with the Queensland College of Teachers
  • Demonstrated leadership, administrative, and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to achieve Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School and Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School
  • A strong commitment to the objectives, vision, and ethos of Catholic Education
