Hospital Food Service Professional

About our hospital, we are seeking a Food Service Assistant to join our team. This role involves assisting in daily food preparation and meal assembly, delivering and serving patient food requirements, and maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and customer service skills, be able to work well independently and within a team, and have flexibility to work early/late shifts and weekend work. Previous experience in a hospital hospitality setting is desirable but not essential.
As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you will promote a professional and positive team culture, provide high standards of customer service, and operate in line with WHS policies and procedures. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities- Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
- Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
- Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils, including dish and pot washing
- Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture
- Provide high standard of customer service
- Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well independently and within a team
- Flexibility to work early/late shifts and weekend work
- Previous experience in a hospital hospitality setting (desirable)
- Food Handler Certificate or Certificate III in Hospitality (desirable)
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Commitment to service excellence
